Third Thursdays at Villagio

Artworks is proud to announce its participation in Third Thursdays at the Villagio Shoppes on Perdido Key. The third Thursday of every month, the shops, restaurants and bars host local artists and musicians and extend their hours for the public. Come out and join us for a wonderful time. Our last two events started at 4:00pm and extended past 7:00pm. Artists at Artworks provided food and beverages (courtesy of the Jellyfish Bar) plus giveaways and more. We plan on having silent auctions during our next event which is set for April 18th. We look forward to seeing you there.

2012 Christmas Party

What:    Artworks 2012 Christmas Party

Artworks' 2012 Christmas Party will be held on December 11th starting at 5:00pm. This year’s party will feature live entertainment, food and drinks provided by the gallery’s artists and by members of the Old River Optimist Club (OROC). An art auction will be held with the proceeds from donated pieces going to OROC for distribution to area organizations for kids. Toys will be collected for Toys for Tots so bring a new, unwrapped toy as a Christmas gift which will be picked up at the end of the evening by a Marine representative from Toys for Tots. OROC will also be donating winter jackets to kids in the area for their annual Coats for Kids Campaign – even though it may not snow down here, it still gets pretty cold. Come join us for a great evening celebrating Christmas and ‘Bringing out the Best in Kids’.

Toys for Tots donations may be dropped off at the gallery in advance.

Dan Rolett as Frank Brown International Songwriters Festival Artist for 2012

Dan Rolett has been selected as the featured artist for the 28th Frank Brown International Songwriters Festival. Artworks Studio & Gallery would like to extend our most heart-felt congratulations to Dan who is also our newest artist at the gallery. Dan focuses on photography and has been a local favorite for a long time now. Dan's artwork will be available at Songwriters' venues and, of course, at Artworks Studio & Gallery at the Villagio Shops on Perdido Key.

November 13th will be a special night at Artworks hosting three (3) celebrated songwriters and Dan Rolett. Come by and get your autographed copy of Dan's Songwriters' poster and enjoy some great music, entertainment and art.

After School Art Program Gallery Opening

When:  Thursday, May 24, 2012
Where:  Artworks Studio & Gallery
Time:  4:30 PM - 7:00 PM

What:  Join the students of the After School Art Program for their year-end gallery show. Lisa Mella Burridge and Talis Jayme will be presenting two pieces of artwork from each student. These pieces will afterwards be displayed at the Southwest Branch of the Public Library throughout the summer. Join all of us for refreshment and entertainment and to catch an early look at our budding new talent.

OROC & Artworks Christmas Party


     OROC and Artwork's co-hosted Christmas Party was a huge success. There were plenty of wonderful appetizers and beverages provided by members of OROC and artists from the gallery. Several hundred dollars of new, unwrapped toys were donated to the Marines' Toys-for-Tots program (Noah delivered these the following morning). Talis Jayme and Noah Moseley welcomed everyone to this joint Christmas Party. Arlene Carr and Michael Bennett spoke about OROC's  donations of ten (10) winter jackets to local area kids and OROC presented $300 to the local Boys & Girls Club. Special thanks to everyone who brought toys, food, drinks and to Christie Taylor for being an exceptional bartender and to Pat McCann who played Christmas music for us throughout the evening. Frank Brown International Songwriters Festival 2011 at Artworks


     Alan Rhody and Gove Scrivenor performed at Artworks Studio & Gallery at the Villagio Shops on Perdido Key November 15th. Alan and Gove, along with all of the artists, welcomed a large crowd of locals and visitors along with many members from our local Old River Optimist Club (http://www.oldriveroptimistclub.org/). Artworks is proud to be a member of this fantastic annual event showcasing our artists and songwriting artists alike. Thank you Songwriters!
